Making Memories

When you have Kids its a good idea to take some time to make memories with them. Today Deb and I made a morning trip with our Kids to Brown’s Isle in Richmond. Along the way we stopped at Shockoe Esspresso to grab a cup of Coffee and some bagels to fill up and get warm because it was a brisk windy morning. Once we got to Brown’s Isle the sun was enough to keep us warm despite the wind.

After we parked, we let our boys walk with us while I pushed Eli in the stroller along the path to Brown’s Island. Our first stop on the trip, was to the bridge over the James River(This spot happens to be my favorite view of Richmond). After our trip onto the Bridge, we went back to the wide open area of Brown’s Isle. There we threw balls, frisbee’s, and ran around acting silly and having a grand ole time. Eli crawled around chasing balls back and forth. Deb and I got to play a short game of frisbee, something we haven’t done in a few years. About an hour into our play time our kids started to wear out so we sat them down and had a quick snack. During our snack our Boys got to see their first live Train pass by. Sitting down with them helping them enjoy their snack was one of the best moments of our trip. I love spending time with my kids and plan on doing trips like this morning often. This has been the Best Saturday Morning in a while.

I wish I had photos to share, but we forgot our camera at home. I did find some photos of Browns Island on Flickr.

Idol

Boy was I excited to hear Chris Sligh sing Typical by Mute Math on American Idol last night. I’m pretty excited to see more of the beat boxing boy.

You happy Chris?

Swing Dancing

My wife and I used to dance every month or so.  Now its more like every 6 months.  I really miss the Glenn Echo trips to go dancing in a large ballroom with a live band.  Theres nothing like it.

Big Step

Deb and I just switched our twins to Toddler Beds last night. We were dreading doing it because it would allow them to freely get out of bed whenever they’d like. Since Ezra has already dived over the edge of his crib and they both are growing out of their cribs we decided that now was the time. Surprisingly it was pretty painless for us. Now for them thats another story, last night they fell out of their beds 3 times.

Virb

I got invited this week via JoshuaBlankenship and let me just say, wow it sure is pretty. I will be customizing my profile his weekend.

Chris needs to accept his invite.

What a week …

This week my twin boys(Kaleb and Ezra) turn 2 and I got a 20″ iMac. Its almost too much excitment to pack into one week. Luckily I have a nice 3 day weekend to recoup and learn my iMac.

I wanted to leave you with a link to some stellar photos taken by my sis today.

Also here is another photo taken by my sis of my beautiful daughter.

why i started

Jeremy Cowart and his company pixelgrazer are what got me excited about web design about 4-5 years ago. The sites and designs that were coming from them were so different from what I was used to seeing.

I remember they did this really innovative site for Kevin Max. They used a really small animated gif and set the height and width to 100% of the width of the frame it was in. It gave off this slick effect that matched the artsy feel of Kevin Max. There was also some photos with a pretty treatment that I snatched and used the images and created myself a wallpaper. Here is another site that they did that had a gorgeous background.

Their old portfolio site for pixelgrazer.com was the slickest flash portfolio. Now Jeremy has moved on to do excellent Photography.
